STEAM ENGINE REVIVAL: HEAT AND POWER GENERATION WITH LOCAL BIOMASS
With reference to a previous article in the chapter "Stationary Engines" we are pleased to announce the successful recomissioning of the said steam engine (Esterer 1606/1954). The steam engine is generating electric power and heat entirely form locally produced wood chips and china grass, a mixture of which is being used as fuel.
The steam cylinder and steam engine are mounted directly on top of the boiler. Please note the insulated live steam pipe as well as the non insulated exhaust steam pipe. Picture: Roger Waller
