Die Lokomotive &#8222;Borkum&#8220; der Borkumer Kleinbahn erhielt einen neuen geschweissten Kessel mit Leicht\u00f6l-Feuerung. Die 52 8055 wurde stark modernisiert und zeigt, dass die moderne Dampftechnik auch auf grosse Dampflokomotiven anwendbar ist. Die Dampflokomotive &#8222;Heidi&#8220; der Rh\u00e4tischen Bahn und die Lok &#8222;Breithorn&#8220; der Brig-Visp-Zermattbahn erhielten neue Kessel mit \u00dcberhitzer und\u00a0 Leicht\u00f6lfeuerungen. Die Lok 14 A der australischen Puffing Billy Railway wurde auf Leicht\u00f6lfeuerung umgebaut.<\/p>\n<p>Please see our photo gallery for further pictures<\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\tRAIL VEHICLES FOR RACK OPERATION\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>Here we present various techniques and procedures we use in connection with steam engines.\n\nSystematic measurement of the control components and the slides or valves allows the detection and localisation of errors in the control system. By eliminating these faults, the steam distribution and thus the running behaviour and the efficiency of the steam engine is improved.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stability and safety against derailment, also for vehicles with special drive train arrangements and running gears<\/li>\n<li>Geometrical matching of rack and pinion<\/li>\n<li>Brakes and brake systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For various rack railways we provide the safety certificate required by the Federal Office of Transportation (BAV) for new lines<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/dlm-ag.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/smith.gif\" alt=\"smith\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"541\" width=\"757\" title=\"smith\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t<p>Smith diagram showing the stresses in the rack web under traction for different temperatures, curves and pinions<\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\tSTRENGTH OF MATERIALS\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>Using the Finite Element Method (FEM), we can analyse the stresses and deformations of your components with MSC-Nastran. For example, thermal stresses in boiler components, stress peaks at the foot of a gear wheel or deformations of a locomotive frame can be calculated.
