Das prim\u00e4re Ziel des Umbaus war es, Dampfz\u00fcge auch bei h\u00f6chster Waldbrandgefahrenstufe zu erm\u00f6glichen. Bisher mussten dann Diesellokomotiven eingesetzt werden. Die sehr erfolgreiche Touristenbahn in der N\u00e4he von Melbourne hat 2017 mehr als\u00a0 511&#8217;000 zufriedene Fahrg\u00e4ste bef\u00f6rdert und kann auf rund 900 (!) Freiwillge z\u00e4hlen, eine Zahl, um die sie manche Touristenbahn beneiden d\u00fcrfte.
