On Monday, 26 May 2025, after a comprehensive overhaul by DLM Ltd., 52 8055 steamed under its own power from Frauenfeld via Romanshorn, Lake Constance and alongside the Rhine to its home shed at Schaffhausen. Prior to this, the yearly boiler inspection by SVTI took place. Because the ETM-S train control system had been damaged beyond repair in the fire at the Schaffhausen locomotive shed back in 2023 and was not completed in time by the commissioned electricians, a leading locomotive had to be organised, in proper style with steam. The A 3\/5 705 of the SBB Historic was in use over the weekend anyway and it three passenger coaches had to transferred from Bahnpark Brugg to Schaffhausen. These tasks could now be elegantly combined. The boiler inspection and all trips went smoothly and on time. As soon as the train control system has been approved, 52 8055 will be ready for specials again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
